Fur Kids operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for dogs. Furkids also operates one of the only facilities in the Southeast dedicated to the care of FIV positive cats. The Furkids mission is to rescue homeless animals, provide them with the best medical care and nurturing environment while working to find them a forever home. Furkids heals the whole animal, physically and emotionally, restoring its health and its spirit.
Our team worked with the no-kill animal shelter Furkids, specifically on the operations of their thrift stores that raise money for their shelters through the sales of donated items. The team digitized their donation system, inventory, and optimized their truck route and schedule. With the work they completed, the many labor intensive portions from discounting items to countless hours scheduling item donation pickups are eliminated, volunteer labor is reallocated, and financial resources optimized.
The Giving Kitchen
The Giving Kitchen provides emergency assistance to food service workers through financial support and a network of community resources.
Our team developed a strategic plan for emergencies to educate food service workers in areas affected by natural disasters about the services Giving Kitchen can offer. This project also helped the Giving Kitchen design a best approach for how to adapt their services and process in these circumstances.
